Innovate

Five programs, one path to invention

From a school innovation club to a filed patent — every YSF program is a step on the same path.

Inside the program

Six modules, one innovation pathway

Every YSF program draws from the same core curriculum — the modules students move through as their projects grow from idea to invention.

01

Flagship Event

Young Scientists Forum Mega Event

A national stage where student innovators present real projects to scientists, educators, and industry mentors.

Once a year, hundreds of young innovators from partner schools and colleges come together under one roof to exhibit projects, defend ideas in front of expert panels, and meet peers who share their curiosity.

It is the moment YSF's yearlong programs converge — where a question first asked in a classroom becomes a working prototype on an exhibition floor.

  • Live project exhibitions judged by scientists & industry mentors
  • Keynotes, demonstrations and hands-on innovation zones
  • Recognition, certification and patent filing support for standout projects

02

For Institutions

Schools Partnership

A structured, year-round collaboration that embeds scientific thinking into a school's regular calendar.

We partner directly with schools to run innovation clubs, mentor-led project cycles, and internal science fairs — building a steady pipeline of young innovators rather than a one-off event.

Each partner school gets dedicated mentor support, a project framework, and a pathway for their best student work to reach the YSF Mega Event stage.

  • Dedicated mentors and a ready-to-run project framework
  • Internal innovation fairs feeding into the national event
  • Teacher training to sustain the program independently

03

School Students

Online Structured Course

A self-paced, structured curriculum that takes school students from scientific curiosity to a real project.

Designed for school students, this course breaks the innovation process into clear stages — observation, research, ideation, prototyping and presentation — delivered through short online modules mentors can guide remotely.

Students finish with a completed project and the scientific-thinking habits to start their next one on their own.

  • Stage-by-stage curriculum from idea to prototype
  • Remote mentor check-ins and structured feedback
  • Certificate of completion recognised across YSF programs

04

College Students

Workshops & Certification

Hands-on, intensive workshops that take college students deeper into applied research and patent-ready innovation.

For college students already comfortable with fundamentals, our workshops go hands-on with hardware, applied research methods, and IP fundamentals — taught by mentors who have taken real projects to patent filing.

Every workshop ends in certification, and standout participants are fast-tracked into YSF's patent support process.

  • Applied, hands-on sessions led by practicing mentors
  • Certification recognised by partner institutions
  • Fast-track pathway into YSF's patent support process

05

Innovation, Protected

Patents

Turning strong student projects into filed, granted intellectual property — real recognition that outlasts the event.

For projects that clear a novelty bar, YSF's patent support team guides students through drafting, filing, and prosecution — demystifying a process most students never get exposed to before university.

To date, this pathway has helped student innovators secure 280 granted patents, with hundreds more in process.

  • Guided drafting and filing support from patent professionals
  • Novelty and prior-art screening before filing
  • 280 granted patents and counting from student projects

Real patent certificates will be showcased here as more student projects are granted.
